Are Small-Business Owners Giving Up on Social Media?

According to a recent study, small-business owners are not fully utilizing social media because they don’t find it helpful in generating business leads and they lack the manpower or the time to effectively leverage the social media space.

Hmmm….why not give people the tools they need?

Last week I organized a Social Media Soiree that was attended by over 40 small business owners in the Washington, DC metropolitan area. The evening of networking included live demonstrations of Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter, and other popular social tools to help business owners learn powerful ways to find high quality leads, develop brand enthusiasm, and create more buzz about their products or services.

The difference between these small-business owners v. the ones in the study?

Not only did these small-business owners understand the fundamental shifts in the marketplace, they expressed being willing and ready to do what it takes to stay competitive and relevant. They want to be alive and kicking ten years from now!

Kudos to those who made it out to invest in the future of their business!

We were also delighted to welcome our special guest, Clarence Wooten, the CEO of Groupsite, formally CollectiveX.

We would love for you to join us at our next Social Media Soiree being planned for early 2010! Please join our community list to receive an announcement.
